Oregon Live is reporting that Comedian Dave Chappelle held a free show in Portland, Oregon last night. The comedian showed up just before 1am at Pioneer Courthouse Square in Portland. Instead of the crowd of 200 or so people that he anticipated, over four thousand fans came down to see him perform.
The larger audience required a bigger PA system, so Chappelle left and returned with a small amplifier to talk to the massive crowd. The crowd proved to be too large for Chappelle to perform for with the limited audio equipment to which he remarked, “I didn’t know I was still famous, now I know”. Dave thanked the crowd for coming and asked for the crowd to disperse.
Take a look at some video from the event from the team at Oregon Live.
We don't care that the show did not go off as planned, it is just nice to see Dave infront of a mic again.
